ABOUT GREG
With nearly 20 years of experience in email, mobile and social media marketing, Greg knows the ecommerce and MarTech industry and its challenges. For the past decade, he has worked for two high-growth startups serving various marketing capacities, joining each company around the 50-employee mark with less than $12 million in ARR. The first of the two reached 400 employees and $50 million in ARR before being acquired. He currently serves as the Sr. Ecommerce Expert at Omnisend, a leading email and SMS marketing automation company.
Zakowicz is a frequent speaker and chair at ecommerce events, such as IRCE (RetailX), eTail (West & Canada), Fashion Digital New York, Magento Live Australia, SuiteWorld, Outdoor Retailer, and ROI Revolution Summit. He’s been published and quoted in top retail and business publications, including Forbes, Multichannel Merchant, Adweek, DIGIDAY, MarketingProfs, Total Retail, and Internet Retailer. Zakowicz launched and hosted the award-winning Commerce Marketer Podcast and the Cart Insiders Podcast.
Because of his ecommerce marketing experience, Zakowicz has previously been retained as an ecommerce and retail industry expert witness, issuing a report on in-store and online consumer shopping trends.
In addition to founding and exiting a specialty gluten-free ecommerce site, Greg has consulted over 130 companies worldwide on their ecommerce and email marketing strategies, including numerous from the IR 1000 & IR 500. These consulting services included email marketing program audits and performance analysis, in-depth segmentation, ongoing strategic planning, email/SMS program implementation, creative design, operational audits, and preparation of executive-level performance reports.
Greg loves the challenge of helping companies grow and is a firm believer in the power of customer-centric marketing and employee-centric leadership. Greg believes his marketing journey has just begun and is excited about what tomorrow will bring.

Husband of one, father of two. Greg is a proud native of Buffalo, NY, and currently lives with his wife and two children in beautiful Raleigh-Durham, NC.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing softball, doing jigsaw puzzles, building Legos with his kids, reading (non-fiction), and watching far too many sports. Greg is an avid sports fan and can be found passionately rooting for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Boston Red Sox.
